Georgian Bluffs and Chatsworth are holding a public meeting next month to talk about their biodigester project.
It will be the province’s first municipal biodigester, a waste disposal system that handles septage, sludge and agricultural products.
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot says both his council and those in Chatsworth are excited about the project and want to get as much public input as possible.
The two municipalities are receiving two-thirds funding for the 2.5-million dollar project from the Canada Builds infrastructure program.
Theyll share the rest of the 850 thousand dollar price tag.
The biodigester will be built southeast of Kilsyth, near the boundary of the municipalities.
Barfoot says the biodigester will eventually pay for itself, mainly through tipping fees.
The public meeting has been scheduled for October 1st at 7:30 PM at the Keady Community Centre.
