An update on our story from late last month where a family had their loaded U-Haul truck stolen from their driveway in Owen Sound.
Two London residents have been arrested and face charges of possession of stolen property over 5 thousand dollars, and most of the families belongings have been recovered.
Owen Sound Police went to London on Friday, and with the help of the London Police auto squad executed a search warrant at a London residence.
Several thousand dollars worth of the family’s possessions were seized from the home. Not all the property has been recovered, however a good portion of it was.
The U-Haul was taken from Owen Sound’s east side August 31st, as the family prepared to move to Guelph.
They issued a plea at the time to recover the medical records of their young daughter, which had been stolen along with the truck.
No word on whether the records were recovered.
A few days later, the U-Haul was found in London but all the stolen goods were missing.
The recovered property has since been released to the insurance company who hired movers to take it from police custody.
A 25 year old London man, and a 28 year old London woman are charged.
