Paisley celebrates the upcoming season and the community in their fall fair this weekend.
The President of the Paisley Agricultural Society Diane Glebe says the events kick off Saturday night at the fairgrounds at 7 PM with the opening ceremonies.
There will also be the fair ambassador competition at this time with five ladies vying for the title.
A new event will happen Saturday as there has always been interest in the winning baking and canning at the fair.
Glebe says they will now have an auction on Saturday night featuring the winning pies, cakes, jams, jellies and more.
The junior organizing group has planned a free movie night on Saturday to keep the kids entertained while the opening ceremonies are going on.
Glebe says the junior group is becoming very active in the fair – moving up in the ranks for hosting and organizing events.
Glebe says it is the children of current volunteers that have shown a lot of interest in keeping the fair fun and fresh for the youngsters.
On Sunday the main events happen with exhibits- 4-H beef and dairy shows – plus invitational 4-H horse competitions.
Glebe says the thing the Paisley fair is most famous for is the heavy horse pull – and this happens Sunday.
Lots for kids to do with a decorated bike parade – a pet show – as well as a frog jumping competition – but the kids have to bring their own frog.
The event wind down Sunday around 5 PM with a beef barbeque – prices are 12 dollars for adults – 6 dollars for kids.
The events all happen at Riverside park in the town with signs marking the way.
