Today is a day of good-byes for Saugeen Shores CAO Ron Brown.
After 10-years on the job as CAO of the amalgamated communities in Saugeen Shores, and after some 35 years in municipal government, Ron Brown is calling it quits.
Brown says he was supposed to have retired a year ago, but was asked to stay on a while longer.
He says he’s going to relax for a while, maybe do some travelling and then see if there’s a place for him in the consulting field on a part time basis.
Today, there’s a public farewell party for Brown at the Walker House in Southampton.
It starts at 3 PM and continues to 8 PM.
Brown says the entire staff that help make Saugeen Shores what it is must continue to do the job to make the community stronger than before.
CAO Larry Allison, who has been on the payroll for the past three weeks, takes over officially on Monday with a town council meeting.
Allison says a great foundation has already been set for council and for staff to move ahead as increased development becomes more evident in Saugeen Shores.
