Residents across Grey County as well as Walkerton are doing a little fall cleaning this weekend.
The City of Owen Sound as well as Hanover and Walkerton are holding a Household Hazardous Waste Day tomorrow.
The Owen Sound Public Works building is open from 9 AM to 3 PM for City residents.
But it is also available for people living in Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Meaford, Grey Highlands, Southgate and West Grey.
The Hanover Public Works Yard and the Bruce County Works Yard in Walkerton is also open to local residents from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Residents can dispose of household hazardous items free of charge — including motor oil, paints, gasoline, pool chemicals, batteries and cleaners.
Hanover Councillor Peter Hambly says these days are important to keep hazardous items from ending up in the landfill.
