Fundraising efforts are gaining momentum for a new accessible playground facility in Saugeen Shores.
Council has already applied for a 140 thousand dollar federal grant to build fully accessible pathways leading to the site of the proposed playground at Jubilee Park.
The grant would also go towards making the washroom facilities in the park accessible.
Councillor Victoria Serda is a member of the Accessibility Committee and she says they are also seeking corporate sponsorship.
The Bruce Power Worker’s Union has already donated 10 thousand dollars.
Serda says accessibility needs haven’t been highly addressed in the past, and grant money will help Saugeen Shores meet the new provincial regulations.
