The real estate market is alive and well in Grey and Bruce counties.
President of the Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound, Neil Devlin says in July — they posted the first year-over-year gain in 15 months.
There were 238 homes sold during the month, which is up 1 per cent from the level of a year ago.
Devil says that is the first time they have seen sales increase compared to the same month since May of 2008.
The total value of homes sold in July was 47.1 million dollars.
That is down 3 percent and Devlin says buyers are certainly in the drivers seat.
Prices on average are down from a high of 210 thousand dollars to about 195 thousand dollars this year.
Devlin says house sales are still being driven by low interest rates.
