Owen Sound Police are taking a novel approach to getting motorists to slow down.
Information is now being posted on their website regarding where and when they’ll be conducting radar traps.
Inspector Vince Wurfel says the idea is to slow motorists down — its more of a preventative approach than enforcement.
He says the police department has identified problem areas in the city where speeding is an issue and that’s where they’ll be focusing their attention.
The website will also advise drivers of current special traffic enforcement programs which target a particular offence — such as seat belts.
Wurfel says however the website information is not intended to be a complete list of all traffic enforcement locations…and motorists can still attract tickets throughout the city if they’re breaking the law.
