It’s all a-go even after the area tornado – for the Markdale Fair set for this weekend.
The 151th anniversary edition of the fair goes this weekend at the Fairground in Markdale and is bigger than ever.
Fair Secretary Kate Russell says the fair has received a cash injection from the celebrate Ontario grant.
The grant is helping fund more children’s entertainment this year under a big top tent.
Russell says the fair features all the favourites like a calf show, home crafts, baking contests and live concerts.
Friday night is the ambassador competition.
Saturday night features a concert with the Black Family Band, Pickled Beets and Rockefellers.
Sunday features the live horse pull.
The storms that touched the area has effected only one small section of the fair and that area does not effect the public.
There is a midway with rides and games, food booths, exhibits and something for everyone.
Admission is $5.00 for adults – $3.00 for seniors – $2.00 for children with family and generation passes available – as well as weekend passes.
