The new roundabout intersection in the Blue Mountains is just about ready to open, but last week’s Tornado has slowed work a bit.
Grey County Transportation director Gary Shaw says light installation is on hold because Hydro One is tied up with repairs following the storm last Thursday.
However, paving is done, road markings are on and landscaping is done. Some grading work is being done, and signs have gone up this week.
Shaw says the 2 million dollar intersection should keep traffic flowing at the base of Blue Mountain and is safer than regular stop-sign intersections.
The project is on Grey road 19 at Mountain Drive, and Blue Mountain resort is contributing 600 thousand dollars to have the work done.
An official opening is planned for next Thursday and Shaw says everything should be done by then.
