Rural roadside rage has resulted in several charges being laid by Grey County OPP.
Police says a man walking along Side Road 35 near his Maxwell area home gestured to a passing motorist earlier this week to slow down as a truck and trailer whizzed by.
Rather than simply slow down..the driver stopped and police say the two men got into it with a verbal sparring match as well as a spitting contest.
When the pedestrian’s two brothers came to assist..the driver took off but returned later with five friends and a paintball gun.
Not to be outdone — one of the residents picked up a sledgehammer.
During the melee — someone was hit in the eye with the paintball gun and fell to the ground.
That’s when the other side started kicking, punching and shooting the victim repeatedly with the weapon.
At the same time — several other fights broke out between the two sides.
It took the OPP a while to figure it all out and they’ve now charged two men with several offences.
25 year old Michael Jones of Grey Highlands faces four charges including assault.
His brother, 23 year old Ken Jones is charged with assault with a weapon.
