The Premier now weighing in on the federal and provincial infrastructure grants given to the private school in Collingwood.
Dalton McGuinty says he wants to be sure the public has access to the soccer field that’s getting a half million dollar upgrade, paid for with public money.
Pretty River Academy has said it would make the soccer pitches available for rent after school hours and on weekends.
McGuinty tells the Toronto Star he was “not aware” of limits on public access at the fields, and is quoted as saying the province “may have to do something to make sure it’s fully open to the public.”
The online petition started by a man in Collingwood, calling for the funding to be taken back now has more than 400 signatures.
A counter-petition, in favour of the money going to the school, was started this week.
It has a hundred signatures on it.
