A Southampton shoe store is changing owners.
Paul Schendel — the owner of Schendel and Sullivan Shoes — is selling the business to Lane McKeekin and Lindsay George of Owen Sound.
The deal takes effect tomorrow.
Schendel says customers can expect the same quality products and service.
He says McKeekin and George have asked for his sources and contacts, the location and name are staying the same, and the store fixtures aren’t changing.
However, he expects the new owners will put some of their own personal touch on the business.
Schendel says he’d like to thank his loyal customers over the past four years and wish the best of luck to McKeekin and George whom he thinks will do a great job.
He says McKeekin and George themselves have been faithful customers and when they found out he was thinking of selling the business, they said they were interested in taking it over and continuing it as it is.
Schendel — a cabinet maker by trade — says he’ll keep busy now helping out with Sisters on Huron — the fashion shop across the street owned by his partner Delores Sullivan.
He says that while the change in ownership is taking place, the shoe store will likely be closed for two days.
