Premier Dalton McGuinty is in Durham, viewing firsthand the devastation left by Thursday’s tornado.
Bayshore Broadcasting Nws Reporter Ken Hashizume was there as McGuinty toured the hardest hit areas.
McGuinty toured the Durham Industrial Park, where most of the damage took place.
He also spoke with the family of Owen McPherson, the 11 year old boy killed by debris in the conservation area, and offered his condolences.
McGuinty says it was a devastating and tragic event, but adds everyone in Ontario was affected by Thursday’s storm and will pull through this together.
He says there are programs in place that will allow affected residents to receive aid from the government to help them move forward with their lives.
