The cleanup continues in the Craigleith and Thornbury area after it was hit by a severe storm.
Blue Mountains – Collingwood OPP report yesterday’s storm hit between 5 PM and 6 PM and caused damage to barns and chalets at Georgian Peaks resort.
But there are no reports of injuries.
Highway 26 in the Craigleith area was closed for about three hours so police officers, firefighters, hydro and MTO crews could remove debris.
Some side streets off Highway 26 in Craigleith still remain closed Friday morning.
Eyewitnesses report damage across the region south of Thornbury.
One woman reports the roof off a brand new home was blown to the ground.
One man says he literally drove next to a funnel cloud between Feversham and Eugenia.
Bayshore Broadcasting owner Doug Caldwell reports susbstantial damage to chalets and other buildings at the Georgian Peaks resort.
There are also reports of apple trees being ripped out of ground near Ravenna.
There is also damage reported to some home and store roofs in Meaford and there is also extensive water damage in the library.
The hardest hit area is in Durham where one person was killed and six other people were sent to hospital.
The storm knocked down homes, businesses and barns and ripped trees and hydro poles out of the ground.
