It’s going to cost more to fill up today.
The price at the pumps for a litre of gas has jumped to between 99.3 and just over a dollar in Port Elgin.
The price in Owen Sound for a litre of regular unleaded is 99.9 cents a litre.
Just last night, it was hovering around 92.3 cents a litre.
The news of the increase – comes hot on the heels of good news for those in another fuel sector – natural gas.
The price of the fuel has fallen to a seven-year low — just under three dollars U-S per thousand cubic feet.
Prices are down because of the recession, which has seen a drop in the demand for natural gas.
That ultimately means, residents who heat their home with natural gas can expect lower heating bills this winter.
