Officials are updating us on the latest developments in the aftermath of Thursday’s tornado in Durham– and the surrounding area.

West Grey Police Chief Rene Berger confirms that there was a fatality at the Durham Conservation Area.
An 11 year old West Grey boy attending a day camp was killed.
Berger says his name won’t be released at the request of the family.
Berger says police officers continue to visit residents in the hard-hit areas to see if they are OK.
West Grey Fire Chief Phil Schwartz says 25 firefighters remain on duty today to help with the cleanup.
West Grey Deputy Mayor Dan Sullivan says neighbours are helping neighbours, and when he surveyed the damage Friday morning, he noticed a lot of it was already cleaned up.
However, he says months of work still lie ahead to remove the scars from the community.
He says thoughts and hearts are with those who have been impacted by the event.
Efforts continue to help those who have lost homes or other things on their property.
An emergency shelter has been set up at the legion in Durham, and the Grey County Social Services Department is also kicking in.
Director Barb Fedy says they will continue to provide help at the Durham Resource Centre, located at 575 Sadler Street in Durham.
