Leon’s Furniture is celebrating its 100th birthday by giving back to the community.
President and CEO Terry Leon is in Owen Sound today and will announce special donations with local franchise owners Bruce and Liz Beattie.
The Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre will receive couches, chairs, love seats and flat screen TV for the labour support lounge.
The Children’s Aid Society office in Owen Sound will also receive mattresses and beds.
Terry Leon says the donations is their way of giving back to the community and making those locations a home away from home.
Leon says the Owen Sound store is one of their finest across Canada because of the connection owners Bruce and Liz Beattie have to the community.
Leon says their showroom and warehouse are also benchmarks.
And despite the economic downturn — Leon says they have enjoyed a greater market share across Canada.
Leon wouldn’t rule out a possible expansion to Grey Bruce as well.
As part of the 100th birthday celebrations for Leon’s — there will be birthday cake at the Owen Sound store today.
100 balloons will also be released and each balloon will have a gift certificate — including one for a 40 inch Samsung LCD TV.
The Beattie’s have owned and operated the Leon’s store in Owen Sound since 1987.
