Hundreds of cats may be without a home in the Blue Mountains.
Georgian Bay Animal Rescue’s Craigleith location has received an eviction notice.
The group says it’s due to a zoning infraction, and if it’s enforced, all the cats will have to be removed from the shelter as of August 31st.
The shelter says zoning bylaws for the building allow the property to be used as a veterinary clinic, but won’t permit a shelter for rescued cats.
They also say there isn’t anywhere in the municipality where zoning allows for a cat shelter.
