Cape Croker Indian Park will be a busy place today, because it is the location of the 26th annual Cape Croker Powwow.
The event put on by the Chippewa’s of Newash runs from noon until 8PM and will be followed by a fireworks display.
Kristen Holloway of 98 the Beach says the theme this year is “honour our veterans and elders.”
Holloway says the main event will be the grand entry at 7PM, which is a parade of drummers and dancers in traditional outfits.
She says they could not have picked a better day or better location.
There are also vendors on site selling handmade jewelry and clothing.
