The court date for two injunctions about Site 41 in Tiny Township is today.
Simcoe County wants a permanent injunction against the blockade at the landfill, while the Council of Canadians have filed their own legal papers to have work stopped at the site.
There is also a forum tonight to raise more awareness about Site 41 at the University of Toronto.
It’s at 7 PM and the speakers include former Toronto mayor David Crombie, and protest organizer Vicki Monague who is also facing charges of mischief and intimidation.
The Simcoe County Corporate Services Committee has deferred a vote on whether to support a one year moratorium and Midland council has voted unanimously to support it.
Meanwhile, a church in Tay Township has set up a bank account for donations to help pay expenses including legal fees in the fight against Dump Site 41.
Ebeneezer United Church is accepting cheques and will issue receipts.
Donations can also be made directly at any branch of TD-Canada Trust.
