Kincardine’s Heritage Registry just got a bit longer.
Council has approved a motion to have a by-law created that will see up to 150 properties in the municipality added to the list.
Listing a property on the registry does not give it official heritage designation — but is instead a guideline of what could be given designation in the future.
As for giving properties official heritage designation, council has added another one of those to the list too.
The former school on McKay Street in Tiverton is going on the books as an official heritage building.
It was built in 1875 and served as a school until 1951.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says the designation of the property comes with the consent of the owner.
