Wakestock is being called a success.
Collingwood Special Events Spokesperson Michelle Federer says she’s been talking with the event organizers and they’re happy with the turn out.
Federer says the preliminary number she’s been given is that seven thousand people came out on the Saturday, which is always considered the busiest day of the three day event.
Other numbers aren’t available yet.
She also tells us the organizers have already expressed an interest in continuing to hold the event in Collingwood.
Federer says the crowds at Millenium Park were well behaved and police aren’t reporting any problems.
Wakestock was held in Wasaga Beach for three years ending in 2004 when hundreds of rowdy fans were arrested for drunken behaviour and fights.
