One of the first hosts of colour television programming has died.
Peggy Johnson passed away at the Wiarton hospital yesterday after a battle with cancer — she was 67.
The former Peggy Neville started her TV career on the Red River Jamboree on CBC.
As her popularity climbed, CBC introduced the Peggy Neville Show in 1966 — the first attempt at a colour television program broadcasting in Canada.
Her funeral will be held at 1 PM Wednesday at the Thomas C Whitcroft Funeral Home Chapel in Sauble Beach.
