Huron-Kinloss Council is adopting a policy to regulate volunteers who help out during municipal emergency situations.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says a list is needed of volunteers for if an emergency does arise–and a framework is needed to work around.
He says it also gives a draft model to follow for council and staff, but also for the volunteers themselves to follow if they’re helping out during an emergency.
Twolan says it’s another way of being prepared for if or when an emergency situation arises.
