The all clear has been given at the Owen Sound hospital following an outbreak of an antibiotic resistant bacteria.
Back on July 20th, Grey Bruce Health Services revealed five patients in Unit 4-1 were carrying the VRE bacteria (Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus).
The hospital limited visitors to the unit and no new patients were being admitted.
Vice President Sue McCutcheon says no new cases have been found since and Hospital officials have declared the outbreak over today.
McCutcheon says the closure of the Unit to new patients was longer than normal, but they need to have three negative swabs from all those affected before they can declare the outbreak over.
Hospital officials say VRE is commonly found in the bowel of humans and animals.
It can be passed on by touch, so you can pick up the bacteria after an infected person touches a door-knob or bed-rail for instance.
