Collingwood’s Ethanol Plant continues to deal with complaints.
The plant — now known as Amaiseingly Green — received complaints from a number of people who live nearby that there was excessive noise coming from the faciltiy on the long weekend.
In a news release, Plant General Manager Martin Kazmir says an Environmental Health and Safety Inspector was on site over the weekend to follow up with residents and look into the concerns.
Kazmir says it does not look like the plant was the source of the excessive noise.
Residents also complained of foul smells and the inspector did take note of a corn drying odour on August 2nd and on the 4th.
The plant shut down two pieces of equipment to try to address the smell concerns.
Kazmir says the plant will be fine tuning operations and proccesses to achieve a steady state where output levels meet operating targets and quality specifications which he expects to happen in the next few weeks.
