Huron-Kinloss Council has decided not to approve new tiered emergency response agreements just yet.
The agreements would cover emergency situations where firefighters could respond to certain incidents before ambulances and police arrive.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says they had the by-laws covering tiered response for both the Lucknow and Ripley Fire Departments before them, but they want more clarification about which situations tiered response will be used before giving final approval.
Twolan says they want more information from the fire chiefs about the details of tiered response.
Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh shares ownership of the Lucknow Fire Department with Huron-Kinloss and has already passed their part of the joint tiered response agreement.
