Police in Collingwood have charged a man whose dog was failing in the heat of his vehicle.
OPP were called to the parking lot at the Blue Mountain Mall yesterday for a dog that had been in the car for an extended period of time.
Officers say the dog appeared to be in distress from the heat.
The owner was located a short time later and was charged with Cruelty to Animals under the Criminal Code.
A Mississauga man will appear in court October 20th to speak to the charges.
Dog owners are reminded that with the summer season upon us, the heat can build up very rapidly in a vehicle even with the windows partly open.
