The Town of South Bruce Peninsula wants a more tourist friendly name.
Councillor Dan Kerr thinks the Town of South Bruce Peninsula is a confusing and non-tourist friendly title.
Staff will look into the cost and what it will take to change the municipalities name.
Kerr says the current name does not say anything positive about the area or highlight any of its great features.
He says the municipality of South Bruce has a very similar name which has created a lot of confusion.
The idea came after a discussion with chamber of commerce members.
Some of the suggested names are Trillium Shores, Peninsula Shores and the Community of Blue Water.
It will be discussed at the next committee of the whole meeting on August 4th.
Kerr says the change won’t happen overnight – but he does hope it will be done in this term.
