Owen Sound Police say no charges will be laid after a weekend fire on Unit 4-1 at the hospital.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Branch looked into the fire which started in a patient’s room on Saturday morning.
A 78 year old woman — who was alone in her room at the time — had obtained a lighter and ignited the bedding.
Police say the patient was unable to comprehend the consequences of her actions.
Police say the quick actions of hospital staff prevented what could have been a tragic incident.
