Planning continues to design guidelines to improve development along the commercial corridor in Saugeen Shores.
Town and County officials are working together on the guidelines, while taking in public input at the same time.
Bruce County Planner Jack Van Dorp says the goal is outline a design vision to improve the look and feel of the community along Highway 21 and High Street.
Results from a recent public participation meeting are out, and Van Dorp is pleased to say the public is concerned about the same issues town and county officials have.
Van Dorp says there is a strong desire for more tree coverage to be mixed in with commercial development, along with a want and need for things to be more accessible as well.
He says officials are taking time to define guidelines even more, and another public meeting will be held towards the end of the summer.
Officials are looking at creating guidelines for buildings, ways to get around and through town, parks and open space, the environment, landmarks and the waterfront.
