Owen Sound escape artist Steve Santini is at it again.
Santini will try to free himself today from the death row condemned cell at the Old Prison at Trois Rivieres, Quebec.
The prison — built in 1822 — is the second oldest historic prison in Canada and was the site of eight hangings.
No inmate has ever escaped from the Death Cell — which is fitted with a massive iron door weighing over one thousand pounds.
Santini will be searched at 9 AM to ensure he has no tools, keys or lock picks — and then he will be chained with over 20 pounds of shackles and handcuffs.
Santini will then have 40 minutes to attempt his escape.
In 2003, it took Santini 13 minutes to free himself from the condemned cell at the Carleton County Jail in Ottawa.
If successful — Santini would set a world record as the only escape artist to defeat two Death Row prison cells.
