Today is the inaugural meeting of the Grey Bruce Regional Economic Development Partnership.
The Grey Bruce Regional Economic Partnership is a think tank created to bring economic growth and jobs to Grey Bruce.
The Partnership is made up of members from each municipality in Grey and Bruce Counties.
Each municipality will be submitting their own proposed economic development projects today.
The Board of Directors will review each proposal and decide which projects will make the first cut.
Board of Director Member Bob White says there is a lot of criteria that must be met first, including start up cost and how beneficial the project will be to the region.
All projects that make the first cut will be referred to an Advisory Board for further study.
In the end only a handful of projects will be chosen.
White says this new Partnership allow municipalities to work together rather than compete for economic growth.
Its his hope that something very good will come out of all of this hard work.
The Partnership has 85 thousand dollars in seed money to work with.
