South Bruce Council has decided to go ahead with engineering work for a new sewer project in Mildmay.
The municipality was considering making upgrades to the Jane Street Pumping Station to make way for new development.
But Operations Manager Sharon Chambers says the municipality has instead decided to eliminate the pumping station and build a new gravity sewer system along Fred Street
Chambers says the new development means the upgrades are necessary.
Proceeding with the engineering work makes it possible for the project to go to tender early in 2010.
