Owen Sound looked at the idea and liked it.
Arran-Elderslie is looking at the idea now and the jury is still out.
The municipality has asked for a quote on what the cost would be if they went to a bi-weekly pickup of garbage.
Public Works Chair, Councillor Mark Davis, says council decided to investigate since they have the garbage pick-up contract out to tender right now.
Davis though doesn’t think there will be much of a savings.
He also says it’s going to be tough to take away a service that the people have had for so long but he’s willing to at least look at the figures.
Davis says the tenders will close near the end of this month, council will look at the cost.
If council should decide to move to bi-weekly garbage pick-up, then he would be in favour of a public meeting to hear what the ratepayers have to say.
However, he quickly points out, there is no change at this time.
