Twenty new houses will soon be built in Port Elgin.
A Subdivision Agreement has passed the Committee of the Whole level at council that will see 20 new single family homes built on the east side of Maplewood Drive.
Saugeen Shores Clerk Linda White says Robert and Brian Snyder own Maple Centre Developments and this is the sixth and final phase of the ongoing Snyder Subdivision project.
White says the 20 new lots will be fully serviced with water, sanitary, and storm sewers.
She expects the agreement will get final approval at the next council meeting and adds the developer wants to start construction of roads and underground services as soon as it is granted.
White says the developer has been eager to start building for a while and says there seems to be a demand for 20 new houses in Port Elgin.
