Another win for the Bruce Power SWAT Team, based out of Tiverton.
It along with seventeen others from nuclear related sites and organizations, performed recently at the 2009 US National SWAT Championships in Oklahoma.
Bruce Power’s team won the overall contest for a second year in a row, held this time at the US Shooting Academy in Tulsa.
This year, four of the eight members on the team were rookies to the competition.
The competitions are based on real tactical policing skills and involve demanding physical challenges as well as precise shooting skills.
Officers compete in full tactical gear and are only given one round for each assigned target and scoring is based on time and target hits.
