The Bruce Grey Catholic School Board is reviewing its walking boundaries for students.
The School Board is considering implementing a 1.6 kilometre walking boundary for each school.
That means all students living within a 1.6 km radius to school would be expected to walk to school.
Currently, walking boundaries vary from school to school.
Superintendent of Business Cathy Colton says the board wants to even the playing field in a spirit of fairness by having one Board wide policy.
Over the next few months, parents will have a chance to review the maps and voice their input on the matter.
The proposed 1.6 kilometre walking boundary policy will come before trustees in October for approval.
If approved — some students who are currently walking to school will be bussed, while an even greater amount of students who are being bussed will have to walk.
The proposed new boundary would not be put into practice until the Fall of 2010.
