A crash on highway 6 just North of Fergus has claimed one life.
Wellington OPP say it happened just before Noon Friday.
Officers found a 2000 Saturn left a farm laneway and tried to head south on Highway 6, but was hit by a northbound SUV.
The driver of the Saturn became trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by Centre Wellington fire personnel.
OPP say the driver — a Centre Wellington man — was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Coroner has ordered a post mortem at Guelph General Hospital for tomorrow.
Highway 6 was closed for about 4 hours while police investigated.
The name of the victim has not been released.
