The newly acclaimed Liberal Candidate for Bruce Grey Owen Sound riding is ready to get to work.
Kimberley Love tells Bayshore Broadcasting News she wants to get out and listen to the concerns of the people living in the riding and know what they want before any election call.
She says its more important to listen to people and to engage them rather than just being in pronouncements from on high.
Love says her background growing up on a family farm and working in a city helps her under stand the unique needs of an area that is both rural and urban.
The Southgate residents is critical of the current Conservative governments attitude toward the agricultural sector and the fact it has yet to come out with a comprehensive national food and agricultural strategy.
Love says she is looking forward to Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff coming out with the party’s agricultural strategy in the not to distant future.
The Liberal Candidate also is critical at the billions of dollars being spent on the failing auto sector, but other major sectors of the economy like agricultural and forestry are getting little or nothing.
Love says the government also should be doing things to help stimulate the local Grey Bruce economy which has been especially hard hit with the closure of PPG plant in Owen Sound.
She also says she would like to see the behaviour of MP’s improve as what is happening in Ottawa when the house is sitting is according to Love truly degrading the office.
