If you were thinking of getting into the annual Kincardine Women’s Triathlon, you’re probably out of luck.
Race Director Laura Trepanier says the 9th annual event today is full.
She says there are 300 participants, some part of 12 relay teams.
Some entered are from as far away as Scotland.
Trepanier says the race goes rain or shine, starting with a 350-meter swim, followed by a 12 kilometer bike race which goes from the harbour, down Huron Terrace and out Boiler Beach Road from Kincardine to the 10th concession and then they come straight back.
Those roads will be closed to traffic between 9 AM and 11 AM for the safety of the riders.
After the bike ride, they do a 3-kilometer run down the boardwalk out to Goderich Street to Bruce Street and then turn around and go back to the harbour area in Kincardine.
Everyone is welcome to come to the site beginning at nine to add your support to the festivities.
Trepanier says the event raises money for the March of Dimes and they hope to raise about seven thousand dollars — the same as last year.
