An anniversary party is happening this weekend at Story Book Park in Owen Sound.
The park is celebrating 35 years of entertaining families from near and far with a whole slew of activities today and tomorrow.
Celebrations include music, magic, prizes – as well as a free hamburger, hotdog and pop with admission.
The park is still run by the Greve Family – the founders of the business.
Owner Gunter Greve says he is proud the park still is family run and plans on retiring – someday.
The park has come leaps and bounds since opening it’s gates in 1975 – opening with just one homemade carousel.
Story Book Park now has many rides like a Ferris Wheel and Scrambler, the ever popular train and boat rides – as well as a large animal area and waterpark.
Greve tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he wants to thank area residents for supporting the park all these years.
He knows that as long as there are young children in the area – Story Book Park will continue to thrive.
