If you need some work done around your home or garden, a group of students is waiting to help today.
Youth Services Officer Laura Kerslake tells us the Odd Job Squad will be in Wasaga Beach today — doing something a little different this year.
From 11 AM to 3 PM at Beach One, community members including the Wasaga Beach Fire Chief and a few town councillors will be doing time in “jail” until as many job postings as possible are handed in.
Students can also sign up to be matched up with a suitable odd job.
Kerslake says a business or individual can hire a student for any type of job including maintenance, gardening, dog walking and even babysitting.
The Centre does ask you to pay the student atleast minimum wage which is $8.90 for people under 18 and $9.50 for those over 18 years old.
After that employers can negotiate the wage directly with the student.
Anyone needing work or wanting to fill a position can also contact the Centre for Youth at 445-5724.
