The Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living can now hire a Volunteer Co-ordinator.
The Wiarton based group has received 85 thousand dollars in funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Executive Director Libby Ipsen says they will use the money over the next two years to create a new Volunteer Co-ordinator position.
She says the goal is to help increase and support their volunteers.
Currently, Bruce Community Living provides services for 150 developmentally disabled people and their families.
The not for profit organization conducted a study last year and the top priority identified was a more effective and efficient volunteer program.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Bill Murdoch is pleased the Bruce Community Living received the funding.
Murdoch says the group is making a difference in the community — and the money will allow them to help their clients even more.
