Protestors are again blocking the two entrances to Site 41 today.
Southern Georgian OPP Constable Peter Leon tells us no workers or trucks can get into the landfill in Tiny Township.
Protestors have been blocking the entrances and two other areas since Monday morning.
Constable Leon says so far the protest has been peaceful and no charges have been laid.
He says the OPP Aboriginal Response Team and the Major Event Liaison Team are at the site negotiating with the protestors to try to find a peaceful end to the demonstration.
Leon says police will have to step in if public safety becomes an issue.
Meanwhile, Simcoe County has cancelled tonight’s Community Monitoring Committee meeting on the landfill because of concerns the meetings are all about opposition and not the operation of the site.
But the Chair of the Committee claims the County doesn’t have the right to cancel the meeting.
So he has sent out a note to committee members that the meeting is going ahead as planned at 7 PM.
