The Bear Necessities got this Bear into trouble.
The black bear that has been breaking into the Little Tub Bakery in Tobermory has been caught.
Owner Wayne Hadcock says they woke up to large noise around 12:30 this morning after the bear became trapped in a MNR cage.
It was at the exact same time as when the bear broke into the bakery last Friday and Hadcock found him eating some cookies on top of his freezer.
The Ministry of Natural Resources usually sets a trap for 5 days and Hadcock says today was their last chance.
So Hadcock set out some treats in the cage and that lured the bear.
Hadcock describes the black bear as a teenager — slim and about 200 pounds.
Hadcock says they didn’t get much sleep this morning as the unhappy bear was trying to get out of the trap — banging his body against the cage.
Hadcock says they had seen bears before but they have never been in the bakery before.
The one night Hadcock didn’t lock the latch to his garage door is when the bear finally broke into the bakery and enjoyed some treats.
