Between 11 and 12 thousand people took in this year’s Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games.
Event Manager Melissa Macfarlane says while down from last year when almost 14 thousand people attended — that is a great number.
She says because of a tougher economy, they expected fewer numbers, and hitting the eleven thousand mark surpassed their expectations.
Macfarlane says they will know more specifics, about where people came from, and how much people were spending from the results of an economic impact study done this year.
An independant firm — Inigma Research — conducted the study this weekend, and those results are expected by months end.
Macfarlane says they do know they tripled the number of spectators taking in the heavy events, from three years ago, and is pleased so many are enjoying those.
She notes, while they are wrapping up this year’s edition, they are already thinking about next years.
The Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games runs annually in Victoria Park.
