It has been a busy week for Saugeen Shores Police officers.
Two males face mischief charges connected with some unwanted artwork in Southampton.
On July 1st, Police spotted two men with a can of pink spray paint, they were questioned, but released.
Officers later spotted profanities written in pink spray paint on some construction equipment and a vehicle.
Police located the two males and arrested them.
Canada Day saw a couple of incidents on the roads in Saugeen Shores.
A pickup truck heading east on Gustavus Street in Port Elgin struck a 15 year-old cyclist who entered the roadway.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
In a separate road incident, police clocked a driver going 160 km/h in an 80 zone on Bruce County Road 3 on Canada Day.
The driver’s vehicle has been impounded and licence suspended for seven days.
Police are also dealing with several reports of allegedly counterfeit bills circulating.
Last Monday, police were notified about five different five dollar bills that were of poor quality.
The funny money was reported to police by local business owners and a bank.
On Canada Day, a suspicious looking 100 dollar bill was turned in at the police station.
Also on June 25, officers were notified about a male growing marijuana in Southampton and after investigation, a 28 year-old male was charged with Production of Controlled Substance.
Eight plants and numerous seedlings were seized.
