The 25th annual Blue Mountains chili cookoff is set to go today at the Events Plaza at the Village at Blue.
It is one of the main fund raising efforts of the Thornbury-Clarksburg rotary club.
Some 2 dozen teams will be competing with registration at 8 AM today and cooking gets underway at 10:30 AM.
The Rotary club is selling taste testing kits for 10 bucks, which allow you to get a taste of all the chili’s that are cooked that day.
At 1 PM, there is live music from “Lemon Pepper Pickerel”, and the taste testing begins at 2 PM.
Awards are being handed out at 4 PM.
Rotarian Gerry McGregor says if you can’t wait for the taste testing at 2 PM, you can grab a bowl of chili at the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary food tent for 5 bucks.
McGregor says the Blue Mountains chili cookoff is a sanctioned event, and the top three winners qualify to cook in Texas.
